One of the missions assigned to the Agency for Water Mouhoun is to develop and disseminate water resources on knowledge. Knowledge development through monitoring of water resources in several areas: quantitative monitoring, qualitative monitoring but also monitoring of uses.
To implement its monitoring mission, the Water Agency Mouhoun has acquired in accordance with its organizational structure, a Water Resources Department with 4 agents and a quality service for the Water and Environment has 3 agents.
To strengthen the capacity of its services and allow them to be operational in the field, the Directorate General of Water Agency Mouhoun organizes training in monitoring of water resources 01 to 03 September 2015. The training held at the seat of the MEA in Dédougou.
This training is possible through the partnership between the Mouhoun Agency of the French Water Agencies (Adour Garonne and Seine-Normandy) and the International Office for Water (IOW).
The training objectives are:

  • Propose steps for setting up an operational tracking service,
  • Identify and develop tools for collecting,
  • Propose appropriate and simple technical monitoring … ..

Two experts from the International Office for Water were mobilized for training: this is Mr. Christophe Brachet, renowned hydrologist and Mr. Paul Haener, expert in Information Systems.

This training contributes to the implementation of the Financial Contribution in the field of water (CFE), the fight against pollution and monitoring of withdrawals.
Any doubt that this training will enable the CEO of AEM better equipped to cope with its mission and meet the need for information, which is essential to effective management.
